MobileNoter and iOS 5

We want to inform our users that MobileNoter fully supports Apple iOS 5 starting from the version 2.4.3 of the iPhone app and the version 2.4.1 of the iPad app. These versions are already available in the App Store.

Please update your apps to the latest versions if you use the iOS 5.

When will there be a version that will allow adding (creating)  and deleting notebooks and pages from the iPad.  This app is useless to me without that functionallity.

Joanne, it is possible to create and delete pages starting from the version 2.4. Notebook creation is not planned to be added in the nearest future, first we need to implement sections creation functionality.

Hi, I upgraded to the iOS5 two days ago on my iPad 2. I backed up and synced everything on to my PC before hand and then synced it back afterwards. Everything has been running smoothly except for the fact that my MobileNoter app refuses to stay open. At best, it shows for a second before returning back to the default home page or if it manages to show (I had a password protection enabled) it shows the boxes but every time I type in the numbers they don't appear even if I type it in correctly - nothing happens. I have no way to access my notes and am afraid that they'll be wiped if I manage to open up the app anyway.

I'm getting really frustrated with this because I had a few notes in the app that were quite important to me. Please give me a solution asap.

.upgrade to ios5 and latest version of mobilnoter.  It doesn't work on my iPad. Every time I press the icon, it went into the application for few seconds and went back to the iPad page. Remove the application and reinstall, worked the first time but not afterward.

My MobilNoter on Windows 7 Ultimate with ios 5 on my iPad take 20,30 minutes and sometimes more to sync. This can't be normal behaviour for syncing one file. Otherwise it is not very usefull.

I'm still staring at it this time and it must be well over 1/2 hour now...

It happens to me too. Also win7,wifi,iPad2.
And also same problems as Seymour inn reports
Please speed up the development.

The crashing issue has been fixed in the latest update (2.4.2).
About synchronization speed: it can be nornal if it is the first time you synchronize this notebook (and it has images and other heavy content).

I had the issue mentioned where the iPad app drops out. I caught an error message about communication and noticed a comment (on the PC side) on the firewall blocking a port.
I have turned off my firewall and the iPad app no longer crashes (and it now seems to pair).
Can you please advise what port I need to open on the firewall for Mobilenoter as I don't want to turn off my firewall everytime I sync.

MobileNoter uses the port 41982 for the Wi-Fi sync.

I saw on a past blog comment that you were planning on adding cut and paste option. Is this something in the mix, and if so when do you see it coming out? Thank you.

It will be added along with a new page editior which will be included into a major update. Possibly it will be released next month.

After upgrading to ios5 and installing the latest MobileNoter app version, it just doesn't sync at all now on my iPad. I make changes on the PC, go to sync, all indications are that it is working, but the iPad doesn't reflect any of the new changes at all.

Don't state that it's fully compliant with iOs5 when it clearly isn't.

Which type of synchronization are you using, Wi-Fi or Cloud? If the Cloud, don't you forget to run sync on the iPad after you've run sync on the PC (to load the changes to the server)?
Please make sure that all necessary notebooks are selected in the proper list in the Windows Sync Client.
Are there any error messages during the sync?

Hi,

Windows sync client programs (both ver. 2.4.8 and ver. 2.4.7) work, but only partially with part of my OneNote notebooks. My OneNote notebooks are many, are more than 20 folders, and hold more than 2.5 GB of data including texts, photos, and PDF files.

When I synchronized all of my onenote books once and for all, the syncing process was bound to fail. Yet, the syncing process was done on a batch mode (about one-two notebooks per time), it was likely to succeed! In this way, I could add roughly 50% of my data to my iPhone 4 (via WiFi syncing). Yet, when I tried to add more, the syncing processing was no longer workable! Once the syncing process failed, I could not add or delete notebooks afterwards via WiFi. I had to re-start again! That is, I delete the mobilenoter icon on the iPhone 4, and re-download mobilenoter from App Store, and begin a new round of syncing...

Does the current version has the limitation for notebook size or data size? Also, when I tried to delete a notebook, this process would take longer time, although worked, compared with the old ver. 2.3.x version. Apparently, the sync process was not as efficient as before.

When the new version has tantalizing features of adding & editing pages, I still like good features of the old version, such as the very quick syncing process. Is it possible for you to marry the advantages of ver 2.4 with those of ver 2.3 in the future version? People really can not put up with the really slow speed of the entire syncing process!

So far I have not given up using MobileNoter! Yet, I hope that you should submit a "workable" and efficient version (about which everyone is happy) to Apple ASAP.

Theoretically, there is no size limitation, but we recieve reports about problems with sync from our users, if their data size exceeds 2Gb.
The easiest solution here is to sync the data by small portions - for example, make smaller notebooks from the several huge notebooks.
We are working on a simplified sync algorith and are going to migrate to it in our next major update.

Android Xoom using MobileNoter SE HD for Tablet:  I am unable to set the file directory from the settings menu.  I get the following message "There are no directories selected for sync.  Selection screen is available through the action bar."  (Action bar?)  What am I missing here?

Action bar is the menu in the upper right corner of the screen.

Still don't see it
I have a menu it doesn't have any directory choose option
Sync status, overview, quick start guide, support, privacy policy, and terms of service

There is also a button with gears that opens application settings. There you need to find the setting "Sync Directories" and choose the folder. Please look through the Quick Start Guide inside the app.

I have tried that, i went to settings.
Entered my Live ID
Entered my Live Password
Checked by connection (it works)
Then I pressed Sync Directories - the settings screen goes away and i get a message saying "There are not directories selected for sync. Selection screen is available through the action bar". I hit back and it returns to the settings screen.

I do have directories and files in my live account. I was syncing before I got hd.

You need to press the button in the upper right corner when you are on the screen with message "There are not directories selected for sync. Selection screen is available through the action bar". After this you'll see the list of the folders, including Dropbox and Skydrive folders.
