Wow, the iPad has been out a liitle more than two months and you think it is time for a major upgrade? I took a chance and bought your software trusting that things would continue to improve, such as the way of of navigating tabs, and now you want me to cough up another $15 bucks already? I like your software but this is greedy, I'll wait for something else.

Nic,
Upgrade is free for exisiting users, if you already have a license, you won't need to pay more.

Nice Job Anton. Can't wait for the new release. If it looks as good as the iPhone one it is going to be an ever bigger hit then the current iPad version.
Keep it up!

Hi Anton,
I purchased an iPad at the weekend and want to use your software immediately, can I buy now and get the upgrade when it is approved by the iFolk people?
Secondly, what is the music track that plays for the first few minutes on your introductory video, Shazam returned null!
Thanks,
Geoff.

Hi Geoff,
Yes, sure. you can.
It's a track from one of the royalty-free collections, which is available for free download and use. I don't remember its title, unfortunately.

Where can I find a list of new features coming in v2 for the iPad?
Cheers,

I downloaded the new update on my iPad. Now the program will not open!

Greg, please try reinstalling the app.

Vitaly |

How do you re-install?
Mine also will not load since I ran the new install. Do I have to uninstall and then reinstall?

Catherine |

6/19/2010 12:10:38 AM #

Yes, that's right.

amolokoedov |

I was afraid you were going to say that! This is a bummer. I have a couple of large notebooks and when I have to uninstall and re-install I then have to re-sync the notebooks all over again which takes quite awhile. Now, I am also getting an error that the windows sync is not the right version.
So, do I have to upgrade the windows sync now as well? And is that the one posted on the website? I didn't see a version number on the link.
Please advise.

Yes, you need to download the new Sync Client from the site, or restart the WSC on your machine and it will detect an update.

Hi, would MobileNoter support handwritten sketches?

Ben |

6/19/2010 3:39:09 AM #

Yes. Inking will be in the next version of MN for iPad, 2.1. Probably in iPhone app too (we did not decide yet), but a bit later.

You wouldn't happen to have a release date for 2.1 would you?

Josh |

Josh, that possibly will happen in July.

For the moment I am using NTHD for handwritten notes and sketches, mainly for its Close-Up View. I look forward to 2.1 to bring the best of both together!

I am having the same issue as Greg only in reverse. WSC asked to update. Said yes, now I can't sync. In fact Sync option refuses to show up. So tried downloading new iPad client, but that didn't work. Reloaded, so lost all notebooks on iPad. But still can't sync.

Why does Sync option not show up on WSC anymore?

I hit validate and I get the little tick box. By the way, I bought the WiFi license. Notice the Cloud option is no longer ticked, but shouldn't matter as the WiFi option is ticked.

What can I do?

So, after deleting again off both iPad and PC I got it to sync again. Of course, because it had to add the complete set of notebooks, it took quite a while.

Again, today, I get a new update for my PC client. And again, it won't sync.

I refuse to delete applications off both iPad and PC for the third time, to get it to sync.

There has to be some reason why only after arduous work, can I get it to sync up and wait the approx 2 hours to sync, for it to not work again. One sync per update is not good enough. It really makes this application more of a nuisance than the aid it should be. In principle this app is great. In practice it is a huge frustration.

Tell me there is something else I should be doing to get it to sync more than once an update.

The new update looks great, now that I got it installed. The collapsible sections are perfect and editing in the notebooks looks good and seems to be working as expected. I do notice on a few pages that the notebook text became really tiny for some reason when I added a note. I could
bring it back to normal and it did sync correctly though.
Now a possibly dumb question, how do I add tags? I have looked at the FAQ and in the settings and I can't figure it out. I would appreciate some direction on how to use that feature. Thanks

Catherine, in 2.0 it is not possible to add new tags on a page. You can search for existing tags and change a state of checkbox-like tags. It will be possible to add new tags starting from 2.2 that will be available in August.

Hi. Can you give any indication when 2.1 for iPad with free hand capability will be released

Andy |

I have downloaded the new version, and have run into trouble with synchronising. At first nothing worked, so I had to re-install the app. Then only a number of my notebooks transfered. Some pages took for ever. Then I got a error message referring to a PC Log which I could not find, and all Note books on the ipad disappeared. After quite some fiddling around, I got all notebooks (5) on my Ipad. Today I added some quick notes, replicated and got the same error message again. All books, including my non replicated notes disappeared again.

Another issue I have with the expandable structure in the notebook is, that when sections are collapsed, and I select a note, I get the wrong one. It works when all sections are expanded.

All in all, I can not say I am happy with this release. Some more testing might be recommendable. I hope with these remarks some quick fixes can be made, as I like the app.

Hi

I'm having the same problem withe the wrong note. I think it could be, if the section or the note has the same title like a another section or main group. After I have changed the name or I have made a new notebook, it synced normally withe the correct content.

Is there any other solution?

Greetings Oli

I ran into the same issue.  After upgrading the app crashed after trying to load for about 10 seconds.  Had to uninstall and reinstall and resync.

Great job on MobileNoter 2.0 for the iPad.  This is exactly what I was waiting for!
Can you guys add just teeny tiny feature?

Can you add support for arrow keys (and other keyboard shortcuts) for bluetooth keyboards?

Thanks!

I like the progress you have made with 2.0. I have a question about syncing of changes to Quick Notes. It appears that a change made on the PC will sync to the iPad, but not the other direction. Does MobileNoter only sync new pages made on the iPad and ignore edits on the iPad. If that is the case, will that be changed in the next version (2.1)?

I am about to buy and iPad but am concerned that with 256k ROM it won't multi-task.  I drag and drop a lot of stuff to my One Notes program from e-mails, etc, will that be possible on the iPad thru your program?

Charles |

Charles, you may open all types of content which are supported by iOS in MobileNoter.

I ran into a situation where MobileNoter will not sync new pages from OneNote.  I am using Wi-Fi sync and the app acts as if it syncing but it won't load any new pages.  Has anyone seen this and is there a workaround?
