MobileNoter SE - the new version for iPhone is available on the App Store!

Monday, 11/05/2012, 02:57 PM by admin

The main difference between MobileNoter and MobileNoter SE is that MobileNoter SE works with .one files directly and doesn't require the Windows Sync Client.

MobileNoter SE 1.0 allows you to:

View your notes with preserved formatting and layout (just like in OneNote!)

Edit and create new text on pages

Add images (you can choose an image stored on your device or take a new picture from camera)

Create audio recordings

Search through the notes

Look through the tags summary

 View or create handwritings (inks)

 Work with .one files directly

 Sync the app with iTunes

Sync the app easily using integrated Dropbox sync functionality

Sync the app with SkyDrive storage

Please the pill for abortion note:

Please backup your OneNote files prior to changing them on your device. We're almost sure you won't need a backup, but if something goes wrong you will be able to restore your data.

MobileNoter SE is designed for MS OneNote 2010, there can be some problems with notebooks created with previous versions of MS OneNote.

Microsoft has changed the format of OneNote notebooks created or changed via MS Office Web Apps. Now the notebooks format is MS Office 2013. MobileNoter SE doesn’t support this format yet. This can cause sync issues with SkyDrive. You can still convert your notebooks to MS Office 2010 format.

Hi there, is the ability to create pages, sections and notebooks coming to Mobilenoter SE for iPhone soon?

Thanks

Phil

Yes, we plan to implement it in Q1 of 2013.

This almost had me bouncing out of my seat, except that it's only compatible with OneNote 2010 format. I've got 2007. Is there such a big difference in the formats that it can't handle both? Or is 2007 compatibility something you're still working on?

Still, it's a step in the right direction. I'll keep waiting.

Sorry, we've decided not to support ON 2007 format in this version.

What's the possibility of being able to sync with Office 365? My work blocks DropBox & SkyDrive.

We plan to add this feature in Q2 of 2013 (Sharepoint 365 sync)

As for now we have no timeline for the MobileNoter for Mac. As we understand you mean Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac, right? If yes, we can’t see any restrictions to use desktop OneNote in this environment and sync the notes to iPad.
But we recommend you to try the environment first.

Hello, I'm syncing up with Dropbox but I don't see a plus sign to add a page to an existing notebook in Mobilenoter SE. Has this been removed?

Page adding is not yet implemented in MobileNoter SE for iOS, but we plan to do it in Q1 of 2013.

Hi, I love the SE version of MobileNoter, lots more stable.  I noticed you can't copy text on iPhone and iPad, is this feature coming?  Also, do you plan to add the ability to switch manual/auto syncing in the future. My suggestion would be a switch to allow auto synching every x minutes.
Thanks, great job!

To copy text, you should select it first. To do this please use "short tap + long press" actions sequence. It's quite tricky at the present moment and we plan to improve it in our next release.
When you manage to select the text, the options "Copy", "Paste" and "Delete" will appear.

Sorry but I'm a bit confused.  Is Mobilenoter SE the only version that  fully supports the iphone 5's 4inch screen? Also right now I use Onenote 2010 to make my notebooks and have them synced to my skydrive account.  Would I be able to sync my Onenote 2010 notebooks using skydrive and Mobilenoter or do they have to be in Office 2013 format?

MobileNoter SE for iPhone differs from MobileNoter Standard version for iPhone by the synchronization types used, the interface of these versions is very similar.

To sync your OneNote content to MobileNoter SE you should NOT convert it to 2013 format.

On the contrary, if your OneNote 2010 content was somehow converted to the 2013 format (by opening in desktop ON 2013, Skydrive or MS ON clients for iOS), you'll need to restore the sync'ability of this content with MobileNoter by converting it back to 2010 format. If you need instructions for it, please contact support@mobilenoter.com
