Quick Notes - now with pictures!

Tuesday, 01/26/2010, 11:16 PM by admin

The new version of MobileNoter (1.2) with the support of images in Quick Notes and improved search has been released!

Now you can add an image to your Quick Note from the library or take a new one by iPhone camera right from the application.

You can combine the use of this function with the power of OneNote text recognizing option which will provide you numerous possibilities. For example, you can take pictures of business cards, advertisements and so on and then look through this data on the PC.

Of early abortion pill course, you can put images into your Quick Notes in OneNote and they would be transferred to the iPhone app after the sync.

Also here comes the long-awaited improved Search function, which works both with your OneNote notebooks and Quick Notes.

These features are currently available in the Cloud Edition only. Updated functionality for the users of Wi-Fi Edition is coming later.

Very excited by new feature of adding pictures. Am a wifi version user, so can't wait to see it enabled in my version. Since I operate on the Touch will most likely be adding pictures from my pc OneNote Quicknotes, to enhance notes I take on the go.

Is there a time frame on when these features will be available on the wi-fi app?

Love the concept you have with one note. I am new to both. Will there be an Ipad App when it comes out? Possibly with a Handwriting feature? Thanks for the app.

Yes, we consider making an app for iPad. Thank you for suggestion!

Does this mean that the 5MB limit per page is removed in Version 1.2?  I have all of my med school notes in OneNote, and it would be great to be able to access them on my iPhone and search for keywords.  However, as the notes are so voluminous and dense, I can't use MobileNoter at the moment because of the 5MB limit.  Thanks for a great early release, and I look forward to more features in the future.

Katrina, the limit will be removed in the next update.
About the search through images: it's rather hard to implement, but maybe it will come out in future (no exact timeline for it yet).

One more question:  Will the new search feature also search images for keywords?  All of my notes are converted from DOC's and PDF's, and I need to be able to search them.  Thanks.

Do you plan on fixing the bug of not allowing transfer greater than 5MB.  90% my OneNote files are not visible on my iPhone because they are all large.  Thank you,

Yes, this limit will be removed in the next release of the iPhone app.

How's it coming with the wi-fi update?  Some of the information I posted in my review of the wi-fi app are seemingly going to be fixed.  I am holding off on my purchase of the window sync until these features are available and I can be sure my new windows Xp physical PC don't have the same issues as my Windows Xp virtual PC (I am thinking the network sharing may not be robust enough causing the errors on my virtual machine).

I really need these features and fixes listed above to be ready by Thursday March 4th.  I have a conference and it would be nice to demo this to my fellow collegues who have iphones, and also not to worry if I am missing some of my notes.

Scott, thanks for your interest in MobileNoter and for your suggestion. But it's impossible to implement new features so fast. When we make an updated apllication; it's being reviewed by Apple. And it gets to App Store only if it is approved. This process sometimes can take up to 2 weeks. We're going to release the version 1.3 soon and we expect it to arrive in the App Store in the end of March. There also will be some changes yo've requested in your review. See the full list of changes here:
