Windows Sync Client is a very important part of MobileNoter software. It's used to export and import your notes from/to the OneNote.
First of all, you need to enter your account data, the same username and password you've used on the website and click the "Validate" button. It's required to perform synchronization and for checking the status of your licenses.
Cloud and Wi-Fi editions status icons also have indicators of a current state:
Let's have a closer look at the Windows Sync Client Settings. In the "Notebooks" section you need to select notebooks you are going to synchronize using a desired method of synchronization.

The "Cloud Sync" tab contains settings and information related to the Cloud Edition of MobileNoter.

All traffic between "MobileNoter Windows Sync Client" and the server is transmitted via a secure HTTP channel (SSL Encryption). This ensures that no one can intercept your data when it is being transmitted. This also provides a very high level of security that is enough for most of our users.
In addition to the secure channel, MobileNoter has an option to encrypt user’s data with a user-defined key. Data is encrypted on a Windows PC before it is transmitted to the server and later decrypted on iPhone, iPad or Android device when it is received (and vice versa). This means that your data is transferred through the network and stored on the MobileNoter server in the encrypted form and no one can decrypt it without the key (that only you know).
We suggest turning on encryption if you have sensitive data in your notebooks.
If encryption is turned on, MobileNoter encrypts all OneNote data and Quick Notes using the AES 256 algorithm. You are asked to enter a key when you turn on the encryption. You are asked for the same key on iPhone, iPad or Android device when MobileNoter detects that data on the server is encrypted. Your key is not transmitted anywhere, but it is saved in a local system, so you do not have to enter it on each sync.
You can control whether encryption is turned on or off in the MobileNoter Windows Sync Client. The iPhone, iPad or Android application plays passive role, it just asks for a password on sync if encrypted data is detected.
If you want to change the encryption password, you should do this in the MobileNoter Windows Sync Client first and then sync the app with the server. The iPhone, iPad or Android application asks you for the new password on the next sync.

In the Wi-Fi sync - Paired Device tab you can read instructions about the Wi-Fi synchronization, check if any device are paired with this PC and unpair them.

On the General Options tab you can turn on/off automatic launch of the Windows Sync Client on system startup.
Also, if you are using audio recordings in your notes, there are options related to audio encoding on this tab.

If you are using a proxy server for the internet connection, you have to configure its settings.
Even if you are using the Wi-Fi Edition only you need to configure the proxy for your account validation!
