Home Screen
This is MobileNoter for Android home screen:
To work with OneNote notebooks, tap the "Notebooks" button. Button "Tags" opens the tag summary of the notebooks loaded into the application. Search option allows you to search through notebooks. "Recent Pages" displays a list of the pages you've looked through recently.
At the top of the screen you can see buttons "MobileNoter", "Tags", "Settings" and "Sync". You can always return to the home screen using the button "MobileNoter.
If you press the hardware menu button on your device you can get a menu like this:
Buttons "Settings" and "Sync" duplicate the same buttons at the top of the screen, button "Help" is used to display Help options.
OneNote notebooks
Using MobileNoter for Android it is possible to view and edit notebooks loaded from OneNote on your device.
Like in the iOS version of MobileNoter, there are two ways to load them: through the MobileNoter server or through the Wi-Fi network. Please read about Cloud and Wi-Fi synchronization.
Notebooks structure and hierarchy is preserved in MobileNoter. Sections colors match colors in OneNote. To select which notebook will be viewed, drag the button with arrow in the upper right corner. There will be a menu where you can select a notebook.
Pages look the same way as in OneNote, you can navigate with your finger; pinch, double tap or use the on-screen buttons to zoom.
To edit a page, press the hardware menu button on your device and tap on the "Edit" button:
You can edit text in existing outlines, create new outlines, move the outlines and add images to the page.
Tap on the outline if you want to move it or zoom in and tap on the text to start editing it.
Button "T" is used to create new outlines with text.
Settings
To set up the application use the button with gears at the top of the screen (or use the hardware menu button).
If you want to use the Cloud type of synchronization, you need to enter your username and password, which you need to register at the MobileNoter website. If you are using encryption in your notes you need to enter the encryption password which you need to set up in the Windows Sync Client.
To use the Wi-Fi type of synchronization, you need to enter IP address of the PC you want to sync with. After this you need to tap on the "Send the pairing request button" (to show this option please use the hardware menu button). Then you will be provided with a PIN-code which you need to enter on your PC.
You can use the "Drop all data" button to discard your settings.
To start synchronization press the sync button.
Tags summary, Recent pages and Search
These features will help you to navigate through your notebooks.
- Quickly access tags on a specific page, in a specific notebook or in all notebooks
- Filter tags by time they were created
- Group tags by page title, tag name or section title
- Change state of checkbox-type tags
- Find your information easily: a recent pages function will show you the notes, you have viewed previously
- Search through your notes using defined keywords
